Colour intelligence in the workplace
Colour influences attention, energy, and behaviour in the workplace. It guides how spaces are used, clarifies functions, and helps people understand and appropriate their environment. Far from being a decorative choice, it is a design tool that directly shapes the user experience.
Sinem Beaujean will present the approach developed by Sedus to connect colours, space functions, and user profiles. This method builds on Sedus colour decision tools and the Limbic Office® framework, which draws on insights from neuroscience.
This framework will then be applied to concrete projects: the NIWA building in Toulouse and the
temporary offices of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee (COJO). The designers involved in these projects will share the challenges they faced, the colour strategies they implemented, the discussions and trade-offs with their clients, and the effects observed on spatial clarity, collaboration, and concentration.
Participants will leave with practical insights to help them build coherent colour strategies, support their design choices, and create work environments that are clearer and better understood by their users.
